I had the pleasure of consulting with clients to advise them on the re-design of their living and bathroom spaces of their newly acquired home at Cashmere, Brisbane.  It was looking dated, and the owners have a long list of renovation projects on their list to restyle their home to suit their lifestyle and personal tastes.

We re-designed the kitchen by selecting stone benchtops for the kitchen, island bench and butler’s pantry of YDL Stone, Sabia, complemented by stone waterfall ends for the island bench.  The colour and range for the kitchen and pantry cabinetry will be Nikpol Fika range, colour Sahara with contrasting overhead feature cupboards done in Laminex Bayleaf to bring the outdoors in.

The colour selection process to determine the best colours for this project.

The main bathroom and ensuite vanities design will be Tasmanian Oak cabinets with YDL stone, Rosemaree, bench tops in a 20mm profile.

The laundry being a functional workspace will be fitted out with Polytec Tasmanian Oak cabinets, Nikpol Speckled Snow laminate benchtops with a drop-in tub and to add point of difference, we specified Nikpol Fika range Sahara Blonde laminate overhead cabinets.

The TV room will feature a built-in entertainment unit constructed from Tasmanian Oak laminate that will be the focal point of the room.  The large-screen smart TV will be mounted on the wall above the unit. The clients plan to install a ceiling-mounted light pendant above the left- hand side of the entertainment unit and a treasured piece of artwork to add interest and balance at the right-hand side. The TV room will also have a beautiful, textured wallpaper applied on the wall opposite the entrance to soften the room and give it ambiance.

The newly tiled floors throughout the home provided inspiration for our colour choices as the clients wanted a neutral, soothing palette so we chose a combination of warm, earthy tones to complement their new furnishings, mostly of which will be timber and textured fabrics.
